Commercial Manager – Sports Venue & Growing Fitness Event


My client is a Leisure, sports and events operator, with a number of sites across the UK. Job Purpose

The Commercial Manager will drive all programming and activity revenue at the venue whilst ensuring that profit targets are met or exceeded. The role will also focus on growing participation numbers for a popular and developing fitness event challenge. My client is keen to bring sponsorship partners to this event in 2018 so a background in Event/Sponsorship sales is preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • To maximise income across multiple lines including Outdoor Sports Pitches, Event sales, sponsorship, advertising and membership
  • Take the lead in proactive development of new business and increasing the  brand awareness in the local area
  • Ensure each team member is fully aware of their targets and how they will work to achieve them
  • Ensure the delivery of KPI’s as set out by the Commercial Director in order to drive revenue to achieve budget
  • Personally build excellent relationships with clients, customers and 3rd parties
  • To ensure all key accounts are managed and maintained offering each one excellent individual service
  • To work closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure each revenue line has an advertising and promotional plan in place
  • To assist the marketing manager with the creation and implementation of an entertainment program that offers customers a unique and memorable experience
  • To keep aware of competitor offers and to conduct regular market research
  • To hold 6 monthly appraisals for all team members
  • To comply with all Health and Safety regulations

My client seeks a proactive and passionate candidate with strong leadership skills and proven relevant experience within event sales management. An excellent networker with an eye for a new business opportunities and new business relationships. The successful candidate must have previous experience running a sales team in a multi revenue streamed organization.


The Package:

Basic remuneration is up to £30,000 plus bonus and pension
