Location: Dorset Coast, South West England
Salary: £35,000

This role is ideal for someone with strong operations, customer service, and team leadership experience in leisure, hospitality, facilties or outdoor activities. Someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment.
 
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Marina Manager to join a busy coastal marina and visitor destination on the Dorset coast.

You will support the management team in the day-to-day operations of a high-profile marina, ensuring excellent customer service for berth holders and visitors while maintaining safe, efficient site operations.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the day-to-day operational management of the marina, ensuring all activities run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Coordinate, allocate, and monitor the work of the marina team to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly operational checks are completed.
  • Ensure all administrative tasks and operational processes are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist with staff rota planning, ensuring appropriate coverage during weekends and peak periods.
  • Conduct daily team briefings and support the motivation and development of staff.
  • Allocate marina berths to annual berth holders and visiting vessels, working closely with operational staff.
  • Help maintain a safe, secure, clean, and well-presented marina environment, overseeing routine maintenance and safety checks.
  • Deliver high levels of customer service, ensuring an exceptional experience for all visitors and customers.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, tenants, and team members.
  • Support the management team in handling feedback, complaints, and operational improvements.
  • Assist with leading the team during busy operational periods or changes within the business.
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in operations, marina management, leisure, tourism, hospitality, or facilities management.
  • Strong team leadership and staff coordination skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Organised with the ability to manage multiple operational tasks.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to work weekends and peak seasonal periods as required.
