Job Description

Data Engineer required for this fast-growing PE backed business in the Tamworth area.

Our client operates in the fast-moving healthcare and retail sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to support the development of their bespoke data analytics applications that are used across the organisation to deliver valuable and actionable insights for growing and optimising the business.

Where do you fit in?

Reporting to the Head of Insights, you’ll work in a small but talented team to support with the creation and development of optimal data pipeline architecture. With overall responsibility for ensuring availability, reporting and governance of data, this will include evaluation and implementation and improvement of existing processes.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying, designing and implementing process improvements such as automation, optimisation of data delivery and re-designing infrastructure
  • Troubleshooting of datasets and reports
  • Working with various departments to understand their data challenges
  • Manipulation, analysis and interpretation of data sets
  • Preparing reports using BI tools for both internal and external audiences
  • Creating dashboards and other visual aids 
  • Building processes to support data transformation, data structures, metadata dependency and workload management
  • Producing and testing data models that can help the business make strategic decisions

You'll need

  • Advanced working SQL knowledge, query authoring and database design 
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience in a data engineering role

The successful candidate must have a recognised professional qualification with extensive SQL experience along with business analytics tools. You'll need excellent communication skills and be able to work with multiple stakeholders to ensure that you're consistently meeting business requirements.
