About Role

We are currently looking for a part-time Volunteers Coordinator to join our dedicated, friendly and close-knit gym team. In return, the successful applicant will see the impact of their vital work first-hand. 

What We Do

Supporting 400 disabled people from Tower Hamlets and Hackney to exercise each year, Ability Bow is inner London's only remaining disabilities and long-term health conditions gym. 

As a small charity, we're committed to keeping disabled people fitter for longer and encouraging the clients we work with from diverse local communities to make lasting physical and emotional wellbeing changes. 

The Role

Working for our small charity - which provides essential support to people in east London to live active and healthier lives - our successful candidate will be responsible for developing and promoting volunteer opportunities within the organisation.

The Volunteers Coordinator will also provide support to volunteers and develop and inclusive volunteer recruitment and training programme.

 

Who We’re Looking For

Seeking a Volunteers Coordinator with a positive, friendly and resourceful approach, it is also crucial the successful candidate will have skills and experience within:

 

  • Volunteer recruitment - including managing each individual and promoting  organisational volunteering opportunities at a local and regional level
  • Championing volunteers and encouraging them to engage with the organisation’s mission and objectives
  • Overseeing volunteer induction programmes and training for all new volunteers
  • Organising thank you and rewards events which highlight volunteers’ contribution
  • Partnership working with local community services to enhance volunteer training
  • Volunteering best practice - including maintaining accurate record keeping and reports
  • Adhering to organisational policies and procedures (ie confidentiality/health and safety)

Contract Details

Working Hours: 10 hours per week.

Salary: £15.00 p/h

Contract Type: Part-Time, fixed-term 12 month contract.

Provisional Start Date: End of February 2019.
