Harbour Operative – £28,602 
Full-Time | Coastal Management Sector
Shift Pattern - 4 On/4 Off 

Join a a leading organization in coastal and harbour operations as a Harbour Operative, based in a scenic and dynamic marine environment. We’re looking for a reliable, hands-on individual with experience in site maintenance, repair work, and/or security operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a proactive attitude and a passion for delivering high standards of Customer service and safety.

This role involves working shifts that include weekends and nights on a rolling rota, covering 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The typical shift pattern consists of four 12-hour shifts (6 am to 6 pm and 6 pm to 6 am), followed by four days off.

Key Responsibilities:  
  • Site Maintenance: Work as part of the Harbour Operative team to ensure the safety and maintenance of the Harbour, delivering a positive experience for both residents and visitors.
  • Conduct regular visual inspections throughout each shift, promptly recording and reporting any issues, and taking proactive steps to prevent or resolve problems.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, both routinely and in emergency situations.
  • Assist in the completion of various maintenance and repair tasks across the site, ensuring they meet satisfactory standards and deadlines.
  • Support site security on a 24/7 basis, managing different security requirements during peak times as well as quieter periods
Experience and Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience in providing proactive and positive customer service.
  • Ability to handle a variety of repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • A proven track record of reliability, including good attendance and punctuality.
  • Possession of, or willingness to obtain and maintain, an SIA licence, 
  • A valid driving licence, enabling the use of company vehicles on and off-site.
