Business Development Manager

Field based and home office

Work and grow in a successful start-up business as a Business Development Manager within the global fitness industry. The business offers a unique platform for the industry to help facilitate the sale of used fitness equipment between gym operators and used equipment traders. We are seeking a hardworking, determined and enthusiastic sales and business development professional who can help grow the UK division.              


Main Purpose of Role:

To be responsible for managing, implementing and driving the company’s UK sales, creating robust, positive relationships and generating new business. 


You will be part of a team made up of extraordinary, passionate and talented colleagues who are above average on skills, competencies and dedication, and who will take responsibility in shaping the company.  We raise the bar with every hire and promotion. To be a successful business development manager you will be a solid sales professional with a partner centric mind-set. You will become part of a hard-working, high performing and dynamic sales team.



  • At least 5 years previous field sales experience in a business to business environment
  • Proven experience in sales, meeting and exceeding KPIs and targets
  • Proven commercial acumen of driving a revenue line within a business
  • Create own leads via proactive approach
  • Ability to work conjunction with colleagues to produce effective marketing campaigns to drive more business to company.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills (written and oral), which is targeted appropriately for the audience to which it is delivered
  • Has an in-depth understanding of sales processes, KPIs and analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to influence across the organisation and externally
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Some knowledge of fitness industry is preferred but not essential
  • Full and clean driving license



  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Work well to deadlines and targets
  • Works with minimal supervision, with an ability to plan, structure and organise a diary effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas and present complex information in a clear and simple way
  • Able to find workable solutions, particularly when changes are required to working practices
  • Ability to determine the needs and requirements of potential partners offering suitable solutions and overcoming objections as and when required.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels across the business.
