This is a fantastic opportunity for a Health and Safety Manager to join a multimillion pound leisure business.


As the Health, Safety and Quality Manager within this large leisure operator you will responsible for maintaining the highest standards for the sites, keeping building fabric, facilities, Swimming Pools, and equipment in line with Key Performance Indictors set out by the company. This role is hands on and requires someone who can translate the relevant legalisation and documentation into the teams of people who deliver within the operation. The successful candidate MUST have an excellent knowledge of WET SIDE operations and be confident training and coaching colleagues and new starters throughout the business.

Job Summary

  • Ensure all relevant Health and safety legislation is applied to works carried out on site including management of permits to work ,safe systems of work and COSHH
  • Create and review all risk assessment documentation
  • Prepare monthly audit assessments for the company
  • Hold monthly, documented performance meetings with FM service provider.
  • Attend quarterly review meetings with FM service provider, preparing reports.
  • Prepare reports at regular intervals on the performance of the companies maintenance obligations under their contract with the local authority and attend meetings to review performance.
  • Liaise with the local authorities regarding authorisation of repair works in line with the financial procedures, obtaining quotes where necessary.
  • Responsible for managing food and water hygiene and legionella control within the centres.
  • To assist in the delivery of the Environmental management programme
  • To assist within other contracts to provide cover, as and when required.


  • Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation and Building Management Systems ( qualification i.e IOSH desirable)
  • Pool Plant Qualified
  • NEBOSH qualified
  • Asbestos management training
  • Experience of multi-site maintenance management
  • Experience of staff management
  • Experience of managing contracts in line with SLA’s
  • Driving License
