General Manager

Fantastic new Leisure and Entertainment complex

North West London

My client is launching their first site in the UK in the final quarter of 2019 and they are now on the hunt for a General Manager to open this cutting edge sports and entertainment complex.

This is a rare opportunity to join a brilliant concept at the outset and the successful General Manager candidate is expected to move into an Operations Director role within 2 years to enable further growth across the UK.

The Job

As General Manager you will be fully involved in the built and project management of the new site with a planned open date in late 2019.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide inputs to the CEO in the formulation of the long term business strategy for the facility in order to ensure a world class guest experience
  • Prepare annual business plans/budgets, specify goals and targets for each department and lead the team to deliver the agreed business performance whilst continuously seeking to exceed it
  • Provide leadership to ensure efficient and effective management of each department, ensuring optimum utilization of resources to maximise productivity and minimise costs
  • Ensure the smooth, efficient and safe management of the operation while monitoring outsourced areas such as security and maintenance.
  • Facility the development of the sales and marketing strategy that drives attendance and maximises revenues. Work with the marketing manager to ensure effective utilization of marketing spend on advertising, sales promotions, events and PR
  • Produce an exciting program of activities with the facility
  • Ensure that all funds and physical assets of the business are safeguarded and administered. Direct financial management function to ensure control over expenses and initiate costs saving measures.
  • Work with HR to ensure the business is staffed by fully competent personnel and provide them with PDP and relevant training
  • Be responsible for all local government relations, setting up of security systems and procedures including arrangements with necessary civil and medical authorities. Maintaining all operating approvals for the opening and on-going operation of the facility
  • Identify every opportunity to create and maximise new revenue streams
  • Deliver the top line and bottom line revenue targets

Person Profile:

My client seeks a proactive and passionate candidate with a proven background of progressive experience culminating in having full P&L control of a large scale leisure business. You must be able to demonstrate a track record of success and detail how you have delivered improved profits as a Senior Manager. A candidate with experience in family entertainment centres, visitor attractions or multi-faceted leisure is ideal and should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the capability of leading a large team of managers

Finally, you must, must, must be service driven and really understand what it takes to deliver the ultimate customer experience

The Package:

Basic remuneration is up to £60,000 plus excellent bonus and benefits
